Planned design

A simple yoke gives this baby dress a clear shape while leaving room for a softly gathered skirt below. The planned design uses short set-in sleeves and a back opening, with the yoke doubled to enclose the upper seams. Lightweight cotton lawn or a soft stable cotton is a possible starting fabric; very stiff cloth would change the gathers and sleeve shape. Sewing will focus on distributing fullness, turning the yoke and finishing the back opening cleanly. The exact closure and proportions will be settled during drafting. This is a daytime dress concept with no age range specified yet.
