Fabric and sewing

An opaque light-to-medium cotton woven with a little body is a useful starting point for the softly full skirt and crisp basque point. Choose a compatible lightweight lining and test both layers together. A very stiff cloth can make the gathered joins bulky, while a very fluid fabric may soften the midriff shape.

The English guide will address distributing the bust and skirt gathers, matching the pointed waist seam, making the decorative loops, installing the back zipper and joining the lining. Preparation must establish bust room, the midriff length and the front and back neckline placement together. Check the shoulder coverage, sitting ease and zipper reach in a complete fitting sample before cutting final cloth.
