Bow-Tie Shoulder Bag PDF Sewing Pattern

Two free ends make one shoulder loop

• Soft rounded rectangular body with a plain front and rear
• Shallow curved open rim and a separate flax-colored lining
• Narrow sewn side depth with softly rounded lower corners
• Two broad fabric strap extensions with free finished ends
• A tied bow joining those ends into one carrying loop
• No pockets, zipper, clasp or metal hardware

The slate-blue views show the bag tied and untied; terracotta shows the same design in another color. The bow is part of the carrying strap, rather than a decoration added to a fixed handle. The main compartment remains open: tying the shoulder bow does not seal the bag opening.

Cloth, tying and sample checks

A soft, manageable cotton canvas with a smooth cotton lining is the starting point. Test the fabric in a full-width tie before committing: a heavy cloth can make a bulky knot, while a slippery cloth may loosen. Preparation will establish strap length, joining details and reinforcement. A finished range of strap adjustment is not yet specified.

The English guide will address the curved rim, lined body, turning the strap ends and reinforcing the areas that take strain. Make a complete sample to check shoulder reach, bow comfort, knot security and the behavior of the open compartment while moving. No load capacity or tested carrying performance is claimed.
