Detachable Shoulder Cape Sleeves PDF Sewing Pattern

Prepared after purchase. Digital delivery within 1 business day. Two small bows support separate sheer flounces over the outer upper arms in this planned shoulder accessory. Each piece attaches at the shoulder of a suitable garment and falls freely, leaving the chest and center back open.

A pair of open shoulder flounces

• Two separate short curved tulle panels, gathered at their upper attachment areas
• A small matching fabric bow over each shoulder fastening
• Open drapes ending just above the elbows, with narrow finished curved edges
• Removable attachment to suitable reinforced shoulder straps
• No fitted upper-arm tube, elastic armband, sleeve-cap seam or connecting back panel

The order covers the pair of cape sleeves and their bows. The gray dress and mannequin are styling supports and are not included. Champagne ivory and dusty rose show the same design. A hair veil or full cape is outside this release.

Fabric and attachment planning

A soft fine tulle is the starting fabric, with a compatible light satin for the bows. Sample the edge finish before cutting: a heavy trim can pull the short flounces out of shape. The guide will address gathering, narrow hems, bow assembly and reinforced attachment points beneath the bows.

Removable fastenings must be chosen with the support garment in mind. Test their weight, security and contact with the fabric; a thin strap may need reinforcement. Universal attachment to any dress is not promised. Check shoulder placement and arm movement in a complete sample. The original design brief uses separate short shoulder panels rather than a continuous cape neckline.
