Front-Laced Princess Vest Sewing Pattern

Broad shoulder straps frame a shallow squared neckline with a small sweetheart dip, while two gently pointed lower fronts finish at the natural waist.

A soft fitted layer with front lacing

• Broad fabric shoulder straps and a shallow sweetheart-square neckline
• Curved princess panels shaping the front without visible boning channels
• Six reinforced eyelets on each side of the center-front opening
• One matching cord crossed through the eyelets and tied near the upper front
• Short waist-length body with gently pointed lower-front edges
• Closed shaped back with a higher softly scooped neckline and plain hem
• Planned light lining and clean enclosed edges

The forest-green previews show one short vest over a separate ivory blouse. The blouse is visible through the lacing gap and is not included, nor are the trousers. This is a softly fitted fashion or costume layer with room for an underlayer. It is not intended for waist reduction, corset support or an authenticated period reconstruction. A longer hip-length view is not part of this order.

Develop the panels and reinforced opening

A stable medium-light cotton woven or fine twill is the starting direction. It should hold the eyelet edge without becoming rigid across the curved panels. Test the main cloth, lining and reinforcement together before sewing the full vest. The pictured texture does not establish a tested fabric specification.

The front lacing is the proposed dressing opening. The English guide will cover joining the curved panels, enclosing the neckline and armholes, reinforcing and placing the eyelets, and finishing the pointed lower edges. Boning, a zipper, rear lacing and a back belt are not planned. The closed rear seam arrangement and lightly lined finish are Sewlore development choices.

Measure the bust, waist and back length over the intended blouse. In a complete fitting sample, check strap placement, armhole clearance, room across the bust and the lacing gap while sitting and reaching. Reinforcement and eyelet spacing need to suit the final cloth; the images cannot establish fit or support.
