Lace Corset-Look Dress

A sweetheart neckline, sheer flared sleeves and a lace-up back give this long lace dress its romantic shape. SL002 pairs a fitted, corset-inspired silhouette with soft bust drapes and a gently flared hem. Choose your lace and lining, then add optional pearl trim or a cameo to make the finish your own.

What you receive

Your ZIP contains the complete pattern package. The 36-page English handbook includes body and finished measurements, printing instructions, a piece guide, a cutting list, fabric estimates, a 17-step sewing sequence, a fillable fitting record and a construction card for each size.

You also receive 10 editable Seamly2D files, full-scale SVG drawings, measurement tables and a technical front and back drawing. You can use the print PDFs without Seamly2D. Editing a native file does not automatically update the supplied PDFs.

How many PDF pages are included?

The pattern PDFs are organised into two size groups. Both groups are included. Each format repeats the same pattern in a different paper size, and each size has its own page range.

Group 6-14 / EU references 32-40

• A4 pattern PDF: 364 pages.
• US Letter pattern PDF: 411 pages.
• A0 pattern PDF: 15 sheets.

Group 16-24 / EU references 42-50

• A4 pattern PDF: 453 pages.
• US Letter pattern PDF: 491 pages.
• A0 pattern PDF: 20 sheets.

Including the handbook, the seven PDFs contain 1,790 pages across all sizes and repeated print formats. You do not need to print them all. Choose one size and one paper format using handbook pages 5-6. Depending on size, that means 68-95 A4 pages, 78-104 Letter pages, or 3-4 A0 sheets. A4 and Letter totals include that size's print instructions and tile maps. For example, size 12 / EU reference 38 uses 73 A4 pages, 85 Letter pages or 3 A0 sheets.

The PDFs use separate size pages, not selectable size layers. Print at 100% or Actual size and check the 100 mm test square before printing the rest. A4 and Letter tiles overlap by 10 mm. Long pieces also have a separate 20 mm paper join, including on A0; this is a paper join, not an extra fabric seam.

Choose your size by measurements

Measurements below are body measurements in centimetres. The first column shows the Sewlore pattern label and EU reference. These are project size labels, not a ready-to-wear size conversion.

The draft adds 2 cm at the bust, 2 cm at the waist and 4 cm at the hip. The waist-to-hem length is 98 cm. Fit the neckline, bust, torso length and sleeves on a sample before cutting your final fabric. Separate cup-size options and a tested height range are not included.

Construction and finishing

Eight continuous princess panels form the outer dress. Full lining and a separate short foundation provide the proposed internal structure. The upper back laces through small loops; a 22 cm invisible zipper below the waist allows entry. The V-shaped bodice detail is applied trim. This is a corset-look dress with no intended waist reduction.

The 18 pattern codes include the four outer panel shapes, four lining shapes, four support shapes, sleeve, bust drape, optional modesty panel, loop strip, lacing facing and sleeve casing. Cut quantities are listed in the handbook.

Seam allowances are included. Most are 1 cm, with marked exceptions for lining hems, the loop strip and the bound sleeve edge. Follow the allowance notes on each piece.

Fabric and notions

Use lace that can be supported without distortion, with a stable, non-stretch woven lining and support fabric. This draft is not intended for a negative-ease stretch dress. Test your chosen lace, lining and sleeve fabric together in the fitting sample.

For 146 cm usable fabric width, the handbook estimates 3.1-3.2 m of lace, 3.3-3.4 m of lining and 0.7-1.2 m of support fabric, depending on size. These are conservative development estimates. Directional lace motifs, scalloped edges, narrower fabric and shrinkage can require more; check your layout before buying.

You will also need an invisible zipper, lacing cord, 6 mm elastic, waist stay, hook, facing reinforcement, flexible boning and suitable channels. Final boning lengths are chosen after fitting. Pearl strands, applique and a cameo are optional decorations.

Before you order

This is a digital development pattern in English. No finished dress, fabric, printed pattern or physical item is included. The files have been checked digitally, but bust fit, sleeve movement, fabric behaviour and the size grading still need physical fitting. Use the measured technical files as your construction reference.
