Any additional dressing opening would be determined alongside the back panel, rather than assumed from the shoulder ties alone.

Fabric and sewing

A light, supple woven cotton or another fabric that shirrs consistently is a useful starting point. Test the actual cloth with the intended elastic thread before choosing it for the complete dress. A textured or pile fabric may change the gathering response and add bulk to the shoulder knots, so it needs its own sample.

Sewing would focus on even rows of shirring, secure elastic ends, smooth bodice seams and neatly turned ties. Measure a test panel before and after steaming or laundering as appropriate for the fabric. Once the upper fit is settled, assess skirt flare and seated coverage before deciding the final mini length.
