Light quilting and softly rounded edges give this women's gilet a relaxed shape for layering over shirts and light sweaters. The two-sided construction pairs a russet outer face with a muted floral reverse, so the same vest can work with several outfits.

Design details

• Round neckline and a hip-length hem with curved front corners
• Three pairs of short fabric ties at the front
• Two patch pockets on each face
• Lightly quilted layers with bound neckline, armholes and hem

Fabric and construction

Consider quilting cotton or a soft lightweight woven with low-loft batting. Prewash both fabrics and test a small quilted section to check shrinkage and binding thickness. The planned guide will cover quilting before assembly, finishing the reversible pockets and enclosing the edges.
