Shaped yokes and a fitted waist give this woven women’s Western shirt its character. The planned pattern now brings together a decorative smile-pocket view and the original pointed-pocket-flap view.

View A: curved pockets and wheat embroidery

The new view has curved front yokes, a central-point back yoke and two narrow crescent-shaped chest pockets. Long sleeves finish in deep shaped cuffs; a separate pointed collar and stand frame the reinforced pearl-snap front. Bust and waist darts shape the body above a curved hip-length shirttail.

Butter yellow with ivory yokes is shown from front and back. An ivory body with honey-gold yokes and cuffs shows the same cut in a second palette. Thin contrast piping follows the yokes, collar and cuffs. Small original wheat sprigs decorate the yokes and cuffs. A printable outline and placement guide for these planned motifs is included in the preparation scope; it is not a machine-embroidery file. You may also leave the shirt unembroidered.

View B: original pointed-pocket-flap shirt

The original view remains included and is shown in the final three gallery images. It uses a women-specific fitted body with bust and waist darts, shaped front and back yokes, a separate collar and collar stand, a reinforced snap front with shaped chest-pocket flaps, and long sleeves with plackets and separate cuffs. Its pocket flaps and cuff treatment belong to View B; the curved smile openings and deep decorated cuffs belong to View A.

Fabric and fitting

Consider cotton shirting, chambray or a lightweight denim that presses cleanly. For View A, a fine stable cotton gabardine can support piping and hand embroidery. Test yoke seams, motif stitching and snap reinforcement before committing to final cloth. A full fitting sample should check bust shaping, shoulder balance and sleeve movement. This is an original vintage-inspired design, with no claim of authenticated period construction.
