Planned stays construction

• Long pointed centre front and a gently curved upper edge
• Shoulder straps tied at the front for a visible period-style finish
• Shaped body panels with stitched channels: short horizontal rows above and angled rows below
• Separate small tabs following the lower waist and hip edge
• Centre-back lacing through reinforced eyelets, with an opaque modesty panel
• Lined construction and narrow binding around the neckline and tabs

Oatmeal linen with muted sage trim shows the front and rear. The ivory and slate-blue preview keeps the same construction. These colorways belong to one pattern. This is an independently developed design inspired by historical stays, not a reproduction of a branded commercial pattern or a traced museum garment.

Fabric and preparation

A stable linen or cotton outer, a compatible firm foundation layer and a soft lining are the starting point. Preparation must establish the appropriate channel layout, modern boning material, lacing reinforcement and edge finish. The previews show the proposed channel arrangement; the final technical details will be confirmed when prepared.
