Short stitched tucks bring the soft body of this 1940s-inspired blouse into the waist, while a full row of back buttons keeps the front clear. Narrow cut-on sleeves make a gentle extension beyond the shoulder.

Planned blouse and two necklines

View A has a small pointed front neck opening with a slim self-fabric tie at the neckline. View B has an uninterrupted high round front neckline. Both share faced short cut-on sleeves, grouped front and back waist tucks, a full center-back button placket and a simple upper-hip extension for tucking in. There is no separate waistband or waist tie.

The sage-green front shows View A; its matching back shows the button opening and waist tucks shared by both options. The ivory front shows View B. Both necklines are included in the planned pattern, and colors are fabric suggestions.

Fabric and fitting

Consider opaque crepe, a softly draping cotton or another light non-stretch woven that holds a small stitched tuck. A faced neckline and sleeve edge should lie flat without showing through the cloth. During preparation, check shoulder reach, back-button access, waist ease and the height at which the tucks release. Make a fitting sample before using your final fabric. A skirt, belt and other styling pieces are outside the pattern scope.
