1940s Keyhole Kimono Wrap-Tie Blouse PDF Sewing Pattern

Short sleeves cut continuously with the body give this 1940s-inspired blouse a soft shoulder line. One planned pattern pairs two neckline and waist-tie treatments: a powder-blue keyhole view tied at the front, and a cream turned-collar view tied at the back.

Two coordinated blouse views

Fabric and sewing plans

Try a soft non-stretch woven such as rayon crepe, silk crepe or a supple blouse-weight cotton. The cloth needs to gather neatly into the waist and form ties without excessive bulk. Sample the neckline binding, collar and tie ends in the chosen fabric before cutting a full garment.

The guide preparation will cover the cut-on sleeves, neckline alternatives, controlled gathers, waist band and ties. A toile should check head access through the neckline, arm movement, underarm ease, waist position and coverage when the ties are fastened. The two views may need different neckline finishing and access adjustments during preparation.
