Planned design

A soft fabric yoke would sit between the waistband and the net support layers in this planned 1950s-inspired petticoat. The upper section is intended to keep bulk away from the waist while separately attached net layers build volume beneath an outer skirt. An adjustable elastic casing would finish the waist.

Lightweight cotton or a smooth lining fabric could suit the yoke, with petticoat net chosen for the intended structure. Sewing guidance would focus on distributing gathers, attaching the support layers and covering rough joins where they might touch the wearer.
