Design and fabric

An overlapping front and a wraparound tie waistband give this skirt its intended adjustable closure. The design brief includes a straight hem and an asymmetric front view within the same pattern family. Both would share a shaped waist and an inner fastening so the overlap can be secured before tying the outer belt. A medium weight linen blend, chambray or softly draping twill could suit the planned construction. The guide would explain stabilising the waist, finishing the tie opening and checking overlap coverage in a trial garment before deciding on the final fabric.
