One upper side button supports the crossover above a loose hip-length body, with dropped shoulders, plain long sleeves and two slanted welt pockets.

Muted plum shows the front and back; warm camel shows the same jacket in another color. This release covers one hip-length view. The plain rear and full lining are Sewlore development choices. The design has no belt, hood, body zipper, separate wrist cuffs or double-breasted button rows.

Choose cloth that supports the crossed collar

A supple medium-weight woven wool or wool-blend coating is the starting fabric direction. It needs enough body to hold the high neck while allowing the broad overlap to settle without a rigid ridge. Use a compatible smooth woven lining. Stretch fabric and a thick quilted stack are outside this design's planned construction.

Test the neckline, front facing and button area in the actual cloth and support layers before cutting the whole jacket. The English guide will address the crossed collar/front relationship, facing and lining joins, offset buttonhole reinforcement, dropped-shoulder sleeves and welt pocket bags. Collar support, lining ease and internal finishing will be confirmed during preparation. Keep the pocket bags clear of the overlap and check that their openings remain accessible when the jacket is closed.

Check the overlap and movement in a fitting sample

Make a complete fitting sample over the layers you intend to wear underneath. Check room around the raised neck, the position of the side button, forward reach and bent-arm sleeve length. Sit and move with the front closed to assess how the overlap hangs. The single visible upper fastening defines the design; it is not a tested weather-seal or thermal-performance claim.
