Fabric and construction
Consider an opaque, fluid woven crepe or a suitable silk or viscose fabric after testing its bias stretch and recovery. A heavy suiting or stiff fabric will change the intended fall. This design needs its own balanced trouser draft; the grainline of a standard trouser pattern should not simply be rotated.
The English guide will address grain placement, handling the leg panels and supporting the waist. Check rise, seated ease and the crotch curve in a sample, then allow the fabric to settle before levelling the hems. Fabric quantities will be confirmed during preparation.
