Cargo Maxi Skirt PDF Sewing Pattern

Prepared after purchase. Digital delivery within 1 business day. A long A-line skirt with practical pocket construction and a clean, fitted waist. This planned woven design pairs slanted hip pockets with two boxed cargo pockets at the sides. Muted olive and slate blue illustrate the same skirt.

The planned cargo skirt

• High waist with a narrow, smooth fitted waistband
• Center-front zipper fly and single waistband button
• Two slanted hip-entry pockets
• Two rectangular bellows cargo pockets with straight flaps at the side seams
• Rear waist darts and a plain center-back seam
• Gradually flared ankle-length shape with a closed, uninterrupted hem

The side pockets have depth from their gussets while the back stays free of patch pockets. Tonal topstitching follows the fly, pocket edges and long seams. The design has no belt loops, waist elastic or drawstring. Its walking room comes from the A-line sweep; a slit is not part of this planned version. The cream top and shoes in the previews are styling items and are not included.

Fabric and fitting

A medium-weight cotton twill or similar stable woven is the starting point. Choose cloth that can hold a pocket flap and boxed pocket shape without becoming excessively stiff at layered edges. Test the pocket layers and topstitching on a fabric sample before starting the garment.

Preparation will establish waistband fit, hip ease, pocket position and hem sweep. A complete fitting sample should check sitting comfort, walking and stair clearance, as well as whether the loaded side pockets pull on the skirt. Pocket capacity and final fabric quantities will be established during drafting.
