Design and fabric

This A-line skirt is planned with waist darts and a controlled flare that develops through the side seams. A fitted waistband and concealed back zipper would keep the upper edge defined, while mini and below-knee views would offer two lengths within the same construction. Cotton sateen, linen suiting or a light wool blend could be considered after the draft is set. The sewing guide would focus on balanced darts, zipper placement and pressing the widening seams without stretching them. A subtle check would show the flare, although matching it would require additional fabric planning.
