Children's Gathered Skirt PDF Sewing Pattern

Planned design

This standalone skirt is planned around a pull-on elastic waist and a single gathered body. Side-seam pockets give the wearer somewhere to tuck small everyday finds, while an uninterrupted lower section keeps the hem simple to finish.

The draft will use child-specific waist and hip proportions, with enough opening room to pull the skirt over the hips. Pocket depth, gathering and finished length will be developed together for the intended size chart. No age range or size coverage is confirmed yet.

Fabric and sewing

A washable cotton poplin or soft lightweight woven is a starting option. Check how the fabric gathers and presses before choosing it. Sewing will focus on pocket assembly, even gathers and keeping the elastic flat. Test dressing ease and seated comfort in a sample.

Your digital order

We will prepare a PDF sewing pattern and an English sewing guide. This design has not yet been drafted, sewn or fit-tested. Make a fitting sample before cutting your final fabric.

The final size chart, finished measurements, print layouts and PDF page counts will be confirmed when the files are prepared. Please contact Sewlore before ordering to check suitability for the intended wearer. Custom fitting is not included.
