Design and fabric

These chaps are planned as costume leg covers worn over separate trousers. Shaped outer panels would connect to waist straps, leaving the inner leg arrangement to be secured with an accessible opening. Faux suede or a suitable costume fabric could be considered once the fastening system and seam thickness are established. Optional fringe would be applied along a dedicated outer edge rather than cut into a load-bearing join. The guide would focus on strap reinforcement, leg opening placement and checking the fit over the intended trousers. This is a costume design, not protective equipment for riding or work.
