This Sewlore interpretation uses a fixed overlap and stretch fabric for pull-on access. The body has no separate waist band, peplum, central twist, ties, buttons or zipper. Deep petrol shows the front and back; muted cinnamon illustrates another color of the same top. The ivory trousers are styling only and are not included.

Fabric and fitting

An opaque, soft stretch jersey with dependable recovery is the starting fabric for this original development. It should drape along the diagonal edges while retaining the fitted waist. Rigid linen and other non-stretch wovens are not interchangeable with this planned pull-on construction. Check opacity across the doubled front and compare edge stability before selecting the cloth. Final stretch requirements and material quantities will be set during preparation.

The English guide will address stabilizing the V neckline, finishing the long diagonal edges, anchoring the overlap into the side seams and sewing the grown-on sleeve openings. A complete fitting sample must check head access, bust coverage, the crossing point and the pointed hem while sitting and reaching. The front should remain covered without depending on excessive fabric tension. Assess the back neckline and arm openings together so the small cap shoulders sit comfortably.
