Design and fabric

Curved side and inner leg seams would shape these planned barrel trousers, creating volume through the thigh before narrowing towards the ankle. A fitted waistband and front fly would give the upper edge a tailored finish, with small lower-leg darts used to control the final curve. Cotton twill, denim of a suitable weight or a structured linen blend could hold the intended shape. The sewing guide would explain matching the curved panels, pressing the seam direction and checking the lower-leg darts. A toile would help assess the relationship between the seat, knee and ankle positions.
