Design and fabric

An upper-chest yoke and a gathered lower panel give this planned top a loose, airy outline. The yoke would continue across the back, with a small centre-back opening and bracelet-length sleeves gathered into narrow cuffs. Cotton lawn, soft voile or a lightweight linen blend could suit the intended volume, subject to the completed draft. The guide would address enclosing the yoke, keeping the gathering balanced across front and back and finishing the small opening. The high yoke would let the lower panel fall in soft folds across the waist and hips.
