Fabric and fitting plans

A fluid opaque satin or another suitable non-stretch evening woven is a starting point for the soft folds shown here. Compare weight and drape with the rear overlay doubled over the base skirt. Test seam puckering, pressing and opacity on samples; lining, facing and any support needs will be resolved during preparation.

The English guide will address gathering the halter front, shaping the lower bodice, finishing the back overlap, joining the skirt and arranging the rear drape. A toile should check neckline coverage, halter reach, lower-back fit, fastening access, movement and hem clearance with the intended shoes. The preview does not establish built-in bust support or a tested fit.
