Design and fabric

This ball gown is planned with a shaped, supported bodice and a full skirt joined at the natural waist. A curved neckline and panel seams would define the upper body, while the skirt's volume would be created through its cut rather than relying entirely on gathers. Satin, taffeta or a structured formal fabric could be considered with compatible underlining and lining. The guide would cover the order of the bodice layers, support channels and waist joining. A toile and physical fitting would be essential development steps before final fabric is cut or a support arrangement is chosen.
