Prepared after purchase. Digital delivery within 1 business day. This planned low-rise button-yoke pleated mini skirt pairs a broad, smooth hip yoke with a crisp pleated lower section. Three buttons at the right front give the smoky olive design a distinct fastening detail, while the back remains clean and uninterrupted.
A contoured hip yoke with a button overlap
- A low-rise woven mini with a broad contoured yoke and a faced upper edge
- A front overlap at the wearer's right hip, secured by three vertically aligned buttons
- Regular knife pleats beginning at the gently curved lower yoke seam
- Pleats continuing around the back to a level mid-thigh hem
- A plain rear yoke without a back opening, external pockets or belt loops
- One planned design and length, without a separate narrow waistband
The buttoned yoke opening and lower pleated section will be developed together. Button placement, overlap coverage and the transition into the pleats will be confirmed during preparation. The opening is planned without a zipper; the final fastening arrangement must be checked in a trial garment.
Fabric and pleat preparation
The previews show smoky olive fine herringbone. A non-stretch woven fabric that holds a pressed fold, such as a suitable wool-blend suiting or firm cotton twill, is the planned starting point. Test pressing and interfacing on a scrap first: fabric thickness affects the yoke overlap and how neatly the pleats hang.
The English sewing guide will address shaping and facing the yoke, marking and pressing the pleats, joining the lower section, finishing the button overlap and hemming. Check hip position, seated ease, button security and hem coverage in a complete toile before cutting your final fabric. Material quantities and final construction details will be confirmed during preparation.
