Design and fabric

This men's shirt is planned with a separate collar stand, a shaped collar and a full button front. A back yoke would give the shoulder area a defined structure, while long sleeves would finish in plackets and button cuffs. Cotton shirting, oxford cloth or a fine linen could be considered once the intended ease is established. The guide would work through the collar layers, sleeve openings and a narrow curved hem. A stripe could emphasise the yoke and cuffs, but a plain fabric would make the first construction trial easier to assess.
