Design and fabric

This sleeveless top is planned around narrow shoulder pleats that are stitched down briefly, then released into a loose body. A button front gives the centre a clean line, while the straight hem allows the top to be worn untucked without a separate waist seam. Consider cotton lawn, lightweight poplin or a soft linen blend after the draft is established. A small print would keep the folds visible without requiring large motif matching. Sewing work would centre on accurate pleat marking, a stable front placket and neatly finished neck and armhole edges.
