Planned design

A short pleated valance can frame the top of a window while leaving the glass below visible. This planned design uses spaced box pleats and a lined lower edge, with a header intended for a compatible mounting arrangement. A stable furnishing cotton or a light upholstery weave would show the pleat structure; very heavy cloth may make the header bulky. Sewing will focus on calculating pleat intake, keeping the motifs aligned and joining the lining. Window width and the chosen fixing system need checking before preparation. This is a shaped top treatment rather than a set of full curtain panels.
