Design and fabric

A short, softly bloused body and ribbed edges give this planned bomber jacket its shape. The front zipper would meet a rib collar above and a separate rib hem below, with welt pockets positioned clear of the lower joining seam. A light nylon, cotton twill or softly structured woven fabric could be considered alongside a compatible rib knit. The guide would focus on joining materials with different stretch, setting the zipper and enclosing the lining. Trial seams would help establish how much the rib should draw in the body without distorting the zipper.
