Prepared after purchase. Digital delivery within 1 business day. Fine diagonal folds meet at the left hip of this planned midi dress. Two curved skirt edges cross at the front to form a tulip opening, while a smooth bodice keeps the gathering in focus.

Two covered shoulders and a ruched tulip skirt

• Sleeveless bodice with two shoulder sections and a diagonal front neckline, higher on the wearer's left
• High, shallow round back neckline with a smooth closed back
• Defined natural-waist seam joining the bodice and skirt
• Front skirt gathered into the left side seam with fixed overlapping curved edges
• Modest front opening around the knee and a mid-calf lower hem
• Plain straight rear skirt, clean narrow edge finishes and planned pull-on dressing

The overlap is sewn in place. It does not open with a waist tie, and the design has no separate sarong panel, belt, elastic waist or back slit. Sapphire blue and deep claret illustrate the same planned pattern. Shoes are styling only.

Fabric and fitting

An opaque, fluid dress jersey with dependable recovery is Sewlore's starting material choice for this design. Test its drape, stretched opacity and ability to support the hip gathers. A heavy knit may pull the skirt downward, while an unstable lightweight knit can distort the neckline. Required stretch and edge stabilization will be established during drafting; a non-stretch woven is not an automatic substitute.

The English guide will address balancing the diagonal neckline, attaching the waist seam, controlling the side gathers and finishing the two curved front hems. A complete fitting sample must check dressing clearance, shoulder placement, seated coverage and stride room. The overlap needs to stay secure during movement without pulling the skirt upward. Final opening height and finished length are confirmed during preparation.
