A continuous body with a tied back opening
- Modest rounded neckline and gently flared continuous front
- Extended shoulders with separate loose sleeves ending below the elbows
- Closed side seams and a full center-back opening
- Two small rear tie closures, one at the neck and one at the natural waist
- Two front patch pockets with slightly rounded lower corners
- Narrow binding at the neckline, back opening, sleeve ends, hem and pocket edges
- No waist seam, gathered skirt, front button opening or side ties
Rust-terracotta cotton with small cream sprigs shows the same sleeved view from front, back and pocket detail. The rear opening reveals an opaque charcoal top and trousers underneath. This order covers one sleeved apron view; a sleeveless bib apron, ruffles, embroidery transfers and matching kitchen accessories are not included.
Fabric and coverage planning
A washable, opaque cotton woven is the starting direction. Test the print and binding for shrinkage and color transfer together, and sample the pocket edge to avoid unnecessary bulk. The small sprig print is a fabric-selection idea, not a supplied textile design.
The English guide will address sleeve assembly, clean bound edges, the two rear closures and reinforced pocket corners. Make a sample over the clothing you intend to wear beneath it. Check shoulder balance, reach through the sleeve tubes, arm and elbow room, coverage through the back opening and comfortable tie positions. The neck tie should hold the opening gently rather than tighten the neckline. This is an everyday textile apron with no specialist protective-performance claim.
The side-tie cobbler apron has open sides and no sleeve tubes. The nurse pinafore and canteen apron set uses a gathered waist and a different back fastening. This smock instead develops one continuous body with closed sides and a two-level tied rear opening.
