A light linen blend or stable cotton is a possible starting fabric. Compare pressed samples to see whether the collar lies flat and whether the button area needs support. An airy texture can suit the silhouette, but opacity and seam show-through should be checked before a pale fabric is selected.

A fitting sample should assess the V depth, front overlap and armhole coverage while reaching forward. Vertical seams provide opportunities to refine the waist and hip balance without adding a horizontal join. The collar should be tested at full size because its width changes the visual shoulder line. Final button placement, facing construction and hem depth would follow those checks, keeping the dress focused on its collar and panelled shape.
