One planned pattern set includes the dress with two sleeve lengths and a plain folded cloth cap, suited to historical costume projects.

Dress and cap in one set

• Open shirt collar, small shoulder-to-bust tucks and a fitted natural waist
• Front button fastening continuing from the bodice through the gently flared gored skirt
• Narrow matching belt with a simple covered buckle
• Horizontal back yoke with released gathers and light fullness at the back waist

Fabric and preparation

Consider stable cotton poplin or a similar woven cotton that can hold the collar, pockets and cap folds. Preparation will address the full front opening, skirt seams, yoke gathers, cuffs, belt, pockets and cap assembly. Check movement, button placement, collar shape, skirt length and cap fit in samples. Pocket placement may be adjusted during preparation.

This is a historical costume design with a plain, unmarked cap. Shoes and other styling items are not included. The dress does not include an apron; see the separate pinafore and canteen apron set for two over-apron styles.
