Fabric and fitting direction

A lightweight cotton or soft woven blend is a useful starting point. A narrow vertical stripe can clarify the front panels and skirt gathering, although stripe placement will require deliberate cutting. Test opacity and the bulk of the ties before choosing a pale fabric.

A full fitting sample should assess neckline security, neck pressure and the back tie position during sitting and reaching. The skirt weight must not pull the upper section down. Gathering would be distributed to keep the front waist balanced and the rear opening comfortable. Final skirt sweep, tie lengths and edge finishes would follow those checks. This concept depends on secure, adjustable construction around an intentionally open upper body.
