Design and fabric

Joined gathered tiers give this planned skirt an increasingly full shape from the waist to the hem. An elastic casing would finish the top edge, with midi and maxi proportions kept within one design rather than separate products. Lightweight cotton, chambray or soft viscose could be explored for different levels of drape. The guide would focus on calculating and distributing gathers, keeping horizontal joins level and finishing long seam allowances. Mixing fabrics is an optional styling direction, but their weight and behaviour would need to be compatible so one tier does not pull against another.
