Planned construction
- Dedicated women's bodice with bust darts and gentle waist shaping
- Shoulder yoke and a full front button placket
- Shaped collar on a separate collar stand
- Long sleeves with placket openings, button cuffs and a curved body hem
Fabric and sewing notes
Cotton poplin, a fine shirting or lightweight linen could support the collar while remaining comfortable through the body. Match interfacing to the fabric and test the buttonholes before final construction. Sewing will focus on the collar layers, yoke, sleeve plackets and narrow hem. The toile should check bust position, shoulder balance, front opening and reach through the sleeves.
