1910s-Inspired Combination Underwear PDF Sewing Pattern

Planned design

Two narrow fabric straps support an opaque woven body. Soft gathering at a slightly raised waist creates a bloused upper section, while the divided legs finish with narrow gathered bands and delicate lace. A concealed side opening is planned for dressing; the front remains continuous beneath the lace band. The back uses the same straight upper edge and soft waist shaping.

This original camiknicker concept explores a late-1910s silhouette. Shell pink and warm ivory are color studies of the same design. It has no separate bra cups or underwire, and support is limited to the garment's straps and fit.

Fabric and sewing

Consider opaque silk crepe, cotton batiste or another soft lightweight woven. Choose lace with compatible care requirements and enough stability for the upper edge. Sample seam finishes before cutting fine fabric. Strap length, seated rise, leg opening and the side fastening need checking in a toile; waist gathering should remain comfortable when sitting.
