Planned design
Wide shoulder sections fasten with small buttons. At the back, broad apron extensions cross over one another and continue into overlapping skirt panels. This construction holds the apron around the body without a neck strap or waist ties. Deep armholes leave room for an underlayer, while narrow binding traces the neckline, edges and angular patch pockets. The front has no gathered waist seam.
Fabric and sewing notes
The slate-blue pinstripe concept emphasizes the length of the design; charcoal cotton provides a quieter alternative with the same ivory binding. A stable, washable cotton or a moderately soft linen could be considered. Check the weight against your underclothes so the apron hangs comfortably without making the shoulder sections bulky.
