A diagonal hip seam leads into a single side bow and long sash in this planned late-1920s dress. The long, relaxed bodice gives the drape room to move, while the smooth skirt widens gently toward the calf. Steel blue shows the narrow long-sleeve view; burnt copper shows the sleeveless view.

• Elongated bodice with a diagonal lowered front joining seam
• Draped folds gathered at the wearer’s left hip into one side bow
• Long pointed self-fabric sash falling beside the skirt

The back continues the sloping hip line toward the same side bow and includes a discreet neckline opening. These are independently developed construction choices. The two illustrated sleeve options share one design; no separate short-sleeve or bell-cuff view is included in this planned release.

Fabric and sewing notes

Choose a supple woven crepe that folds softly and supports a light side bow. A stiff cloth would exaggerate the sash and change the fall of the skirt. Stabilize the diagonal joining edge during construction and sample the bow before cutting the final fabric. A fitting sample should check the low-hip position, shoulder movement and walking ease. Allow bias sections to settle before marking the final hem.
