1920s Yoke Apron Dress PDF Sewing Pattern

This Sewlore development covers the illustrated closed-back house dress. An open-back apron conversion is not included in the current scope. The back arrangement, proportions and construction will be developed independently during preparation.

Small-scale prints and clear edges

Choose a stable, light-to-medium cotton with a soft but readable drape. The illustrated ivory cloth carries tiny blue sprigs with a Delft-blue yoke and pocket bands; the alternate uses muted brick-red details. These are fabric-selection ideas, not supplied textile prints. Preshrink the main cloth and contrast together, then test colorfastness before sewing pale and dark sections together.

Fitting and sewing focus

A complete toile should check neckline clearance, arm lift, yoke depth and the low-hip gathering position. The ties should give gentle control without pulling the smooth front into a tight waist. Confirm pocket height while standing and sitting. Preparation will address stabilizing the curved yoke, distributing the side gathers evenly and supporting pocket openings.
