1930s Beach Pajama Jumpsuit and Bolero PDF Sewing Pattern

Prepared after purchase: USD 25. Geometric color panels and flowing wide legs shape this original 1930s beach pajama jumpsuit. The planned set pairs a sleeveless one-piece outfit with a separate cropped, sleeveless bolero.

Planned two-garment set

The jumpsuit has V-shaped front and back necklines, broad shoulders with buttoned joins and two separate, generously flared full-length legs. Contrast shoulder panels meet a central bodice section that extends below a narrow belt into a pointed hip panel. A small rectangular buckle finishes the matching belt at the front.

The open-front bolero ends near the waist. Straight front edges, a high back neckline and a simple straight lower edge keep the central jumpsuit panels visible. Both garments belong to this set. The additional front-and-back preview shows the jumpsuit without its bolero, so the shoulder fastening and back neckline can be seen clearly.

The main palette places muted marine blue through the central body, pointed hip panels, belt and bolero, with peach shoulders and trouser legs. The alternate front reverses those colors on the same cut. This order covers the one-piece jumpsuit, belt and sleeveless bolero; a separate trousers-only adaptation is not included.

Fabric and sewing

Consider opaque fluid silk crepe, rayon crepe or another woven with a soft fall and enough body for the shoulder fastening. Test the two colors together for dye transfer, shrinkage and matching drape. The pointed joins need accurate marking; the long leg seams and hems need time to hang before final leveling.

A toile should check torso length, seated ease, stride, shoulder-button access, neckline coverage, bolero armholes and hem clearance. The wide legs are planned for relaxed resort dressing, with their final proportions confirmed during preparation.
