1930s Fedora and Wristlet Bag PDF Sewing Pattern Set

A tall creased crown and rows of brim stitching give this 1930s-inspired cloth fedora its distinctive shape. A matching flat wristlet repeats the small black bow of the hat band, creating a coordinated accessory set in burnt orange or warm ivory.

A coordinated hat and bag

• Softly sculpted tall fedora crown with a shallow center crease and front pinch
• Broad cloth brim with closely spaced concentric topstitching and a gently raised rear edge
• Applied ribbon band and a small flat side bow
• Shallow trapezoid wristlet with a rounded fold-over flap, small bow and narrow wrist loop
• Planned bag lining, discreet flap fastening and an internal zipper pocket

The rear and open-bag illustration makes the intended crown seam, continuous ribbon and pocket arrangement visible. These finishing details are original Sewlore development choices. The set does not include the model's blouse or skirt.

Fabric and construction planning

Begin with a stable cloth that can take the brim stitching without puckering. A firm wool crepe or similar woven fabric is a useful sampling direction; support and lining will need to be balanced with the cloth's thickness. The brim should retain its gentle sweep while the crown remains soft enough to arrange. Test fabric, support and thread together before working on the final hat.

For the bag, check that the flap turns neatly and the wrist loop remains comfortable in the hand. Reinforce its attachment and sample the zipper pocket in the selected lining. The English guide preparation will cover the supported brim, crown assembly, ribbon finish and bag lining sequence.

Measure around the intended hat position over your chosen hairstyle. A sample should check crown depth, a comfortable band and an unobstructed sight line. Bag dimensions and hardware will be confirmed during preparation.
