1950s Garter Corselet PDF Sewing Pattern

Prepared after purchase. Digital delivery within 1 business day. Curved vertical panels and adjustable suspender straps define this original 1950s-inspired garter corselet family. The long and short views belong to one planned pattern, with a different opening for each length.

Two coordinated corselet views

• View A: a high underbust body extending over the hips, with a centre-front zipper and a plain closed back
• View B: a shorter waist-to-upper-hip body with a closed front and centre-back ribbon lacing over an opaque modesty panel
• Shaped vertical seams, bound upper and lower edges, and a small upward notch at the lower centre front
• Four adjustable garter straps with clips, which may be omitted when sewing

The dusty-blush front and rear previews show the longer zip-front view. Antique ivory shows the shorter laced-back view from both sides. The garment finishes below the bust and has no cups or shoulder straps; a bra, briefs and stockings are not included.

Fabric and development

A stable cotton sateen, coutil or suitable non-stretch woven with a compatible lining is the starting point. Preparation will address the panel balance, zip reinforcement, lacing edges, modesty panel, bound finishes and garter attachments. The pictured body is planned without a fixed boning system. Any additional reinforcement must be assessed during preparation rather than inferred from the preview.

A trial garment must establish torso length, waist and hip ease, opening comfort and suspender placement. This close-fitting design needs individual fitting checks before final materials are cut.
