1950s Halter Beach Bra PDF Sewing Pattern

Prepared after purchase: USD 25. Broad halter straps and a curved, centre-raised lower edge give this original 1950s-inspired beach bra its shaped summer silhouette. The planned woven top is a separate garment, with no shorts or skirt included.

Planned halter top

A sweetheart neckline meets a centre-front join. Short side and lower-bust darts shape the front, while smooth fabric wings continue around the lower back. There is no separate cup cradle, elastic underband, underwire or longline body.

The broad neck straps fasten with a small covered button at the back neck, leaving the upper back open. Three small covered buttons and loops are planned at the centre back. These fastening details are Sewlore's own development choice. The brick-red front and back show one cut; the navy front keeps the same darts, halter and curved hem.

Fabric and fitting

Opaque, stable cotton poplin with a compatible light lining is the starting point. Preparation must assess bust shaping, neck-strap length, back ease and the fastening reinforcement together. Make a fitting sample to check coverage and movement before cutting final fabric.

This is a woven beachwear-style top concept. Swimming performance, wet-fabric behavior and support levels have not been established. Stretch swim fabric is not an automatic substitute for the planned woven construction.
