A short wrap coat with broad notched lapels

• Relaxed woven body with an overlapping front and a straight upper-thigh hem
• Broad notched lapels joined to a separate turn-down collar
• Separate self-fabric sash tied at the waist, supported by discreet side loops
• Two rectangular lower front patch pockets with simple open tops
• Long set-in sleeves with plain turned wrist hems
• Closed back with a center seam and a planned separate smooth lining

Muted mulberry shows the same coat from the front, back and a closer three-quarter angle. The waist shape comes from the sash around a continuous body; there is no horizontal waist join. This release covers one short coat, without a hood, buttons, zipper, buckle, rear vent or quilted layers. The top, trousers and shoes are styling only.

Plan the coating, lapels and lining

A supple opaque woven wool coating or comparable wool blend is the starting direction. Choose enough body to support the broad collar while allowing the sash and overlap to settle comfortably. Texture in the previews is illustrative. Test the actual outer cloth, support layers and smooth lining together, especially around the lapel notch, pocket corners and belt knot.

The English guide will address the notched collar and front facings, sleeve setting, patch pockets, sash and belt loops, and enclosing the lining. The center-back seam, loop placement and any discreet internal wrap security are Sewlore development choices. Lining ease, collar support and the final internal fastening arrangement will be resolved during preparation.

Check the wrap over your intended layers

Make a complete fitting sample before cutting final fabric. Check shoulder balance, forward reach and sleeve length with bent arms. Tie the sash while sitting and standing to assess front coverage, pocket access and waist comfort. Confirm that the lining does not pull the hem or restrict the sleeves. Neither the preview nor the fabric direction establishes a tested fit, warmth or weather-protection rating.
