Fitted knit panels and flowing circle sleeves

The circular fullness begins at the above-elbow join. It creates the long hanging folds beneath each arm while the upper sleeve remains smooth. There is no horizontal waist seam, separate skirt waistband, gathered skirt join, side gore, lacing or boning.

Deep peacock blue shows the front and back. Muted mulberry is another fabric color within the same design. This preparation order covers one long dress with long circle sleeves; a short dress, separate sleeve pack and applied fur trim are not included.

Choosing and testing the stretch fabric

A soft, opaque stretch velvet is the starting direction. Its stretch and recovery must suit the fitted torso, while its weight must remain manageable in the full lower sleeves. Compare washed samples, check the nap direction and test curved seams before choosing final cloth. A stable woven would require a different draft and dressing arrangement.

The English guide will address matching the long panel seams, supporting the neckline, setting the fitted upper sleeves and joining the circular lower sections. The narrow sleeve hems need a stretch-compatible finish that preserves the drape. Allow the assembled garment to settle before leveling its long lower edge.

Preparation must establish neckline clearance, torso ease, recovery, sleeve weight and the final dressing arrangement together. The previews show a closed back and no visible fastening; they do not establish guaranteed pull-on access. Make a complete fitting sample to check reaching, sitting, dressing and walking clearance, including the hanging sleeve edges. Final opening details, support and material quantities will be confirmed during preparation.
