Men's Square-Keyhole Tunic PDF Sewing Pattern

Prepared after purchase. Digital delivery within 1 business day. A square neckline opens into a narrow laced keyhole in this planned men's woven tunic. Short set-in sleeves and a straight mid-thigh body keep the construction simple and visible.

A faced neckline with a short laced entry

• Squared front neckline with a topstitched facing
• Narrow centered slit with two pairs of small eyelets and a short crossed cord
• Short separate set-in sleeves with plain turned hems
• Continuous straight body ending around the middle of the thigh
• Small side vents at the level lower hem
• Shallow faced rear neckline and a plain, closed back

Petrol blue shows the front and back; muted sage green shows the same cut in another color. The tunic has no collar, chest yoke, waistband, pockets, gussets or gores. This order covers one adult tunic, not a modular costume pack or a child-size adaptation.

Woven fabric and opening checks

A soft opaque linen or suitable linen-cotton woven is the starting fabric direction. Check shrinkage and the weight of the cloth at the faced corners and eyelets. A knit is not an automatic substitute for this woven draft. The short cord controls the small front opening; it should not be tightened to compensate for an unsuitable neckline.

The English guide will address stabilizing the squared neck, reinforcing the narrow slit, setting sleeves and finishing the side vents. Check head clearance before fitting the cord. Make a toile to assess shoulder balance, chest ease, sleeve reach and movement while sitting. Final opening depth and reinforcement will be resolved during preparation. This is an original costume interpretation, without a claim of exact historical reconstruction.
