The extended upper edge belongs to the trouser body, giving the high waist a soft folded outline without a separate waistband. One order includes the long pants and matching shorts described below.

One paperbag waist, two leg lengths

• Adult women's woven trousers with a high, extended paperbag upper edge
• Front waist pleats opening into relaxed hips, with shaping through the rear waist
• Separate matching sash held by narrow belt loops
• Concealed center-front zipper fly with a discreet upper fastening
• Two slanted inset hip pockets and a plain rear without pockets
• Long relaxed straight legs or a shorter mid-thigh view, both with plain turned hems

The three muted-olive previews show the long pants from the front and back, then the included shorts from the front, all on the same adult female model. Both lengths share the raised waist, fly, sash and pocket treatment. The ivory tee and taupe shoes are styling pieces and are not included.

Building the raised waist

The upper edge is planned with a shaped facing inside the extended trouser panels. Pleats and rear waist shaping control the fit, while the sash ties over the waist rather than passing through a drawstring casing. There is no elastic waistband or shirring. The precise facing depth, pleat intake, belt-loop positions and concealed upper fastening will be developed together with the zipper opening.

A stable medium-light cotton-linen blend or comparable opaque woven trouser cloth is a useful starting direction. Choose enough body to hold the raised folds without making the sash knot bulky. The olive fabric texture is illustrative; test shrinkage, pressing and the folded fabric stack before using final cloth. Stretch knit is not an interchangeable substitute for this woven design.

The English guide will address waist facing and pleats, the fly without an attached waistband, slanted pockets, sash and loops, seat shaping and plain hems. Make a complete fitting sample to check upper-edge comfort, rise, seated ease, pocket gaping and how the sash sits. Test the shorts while sitting and walking as well as standing. Final leg lengths and finished measurements will be set during preparation.
