Princess Coat with Detachable Cape PDF Sewing Pattern

Prepared after purchase. Digital delivery within 1 business day. A fitted waist, long flared panels and a small rounded collar define this princess coat. A separate curved shoulder cape adds another layer over its long sleeves. Petrol blue shows the front and back with the cape attached; muted mulberry shows the same coat with the cape removed.

The short cape leaves the button row and lower coat visible. The underlying coat remains a complete sleeved garment when the cape is removed. The precise hidden cape attachment and pocket finish will be developed during preparation; the previews do not show finished internal construction. Both wearing arrangements belong to this one design.

Cloth and fitting plans

A supple wool coating or compatible coating blend can support the shaped waist while allowing the hem and cape to fall. Test outer cloth, support and lining together around the collar, shoulder attachment and button area. The lining and narrow pocket treatment are part of the Sewlore development brief.

The English guide will address the long panel joins, darts, rounded collar, two-piece sleeves, front opening, pocket construction and cape attachment. Make a toile over the clothes you intend to wear underneath. Check reach with and without the cape, sleeve rotation, waist ease, button spacing and hem clearance before cutting the final cloth.
